ROCHESTER & CHATHAM DIRECTORIES HELD

  **An interesting story: Ten directories from #4 onwards were once found in a skip (US - dumpster).  They were saved by a "skip-diver" who took them to an antiquarian bookshop, where he was paid for his efforts. I then bought them for £750. The "skip-diver" saved these volumes from ending up in landfill. They were originally discarded by a solicitor's practice - who clearly didn't understand their social or monetary value.

 

The Mullinger's Directory 1875 (#2) *may* be the only copy in existence.
